Full Time - Sales Associate - Inside Lawn & Garden - Day
About The Position
The Sales Associate provides customer service in Lowe’s Inside Lawn & Garden department, welcoming customers and helping them find products and services for their home improvement needs. The role involves answering questions, helping customers locate and select merchandise, occasionally loading products, organizing and replenishing shelves, and ensuring customer needs are met. Associates may also help prepare merchandise based on customer needs and may be cross-trained in other store areas. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, but does not require regular travel.
Requirements
- Six months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to minimally lift 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
