About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other duties assigned by management. Work is expected to be professional, courteous, reliable, and results-oriented. The standard work week consists of a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours. The associate helps customers identify and select suitable products, maintains knowledge of fashion and trends, and supports shipments, restocking, pricing, and merchandising. The role also supports store training, operational compliance, safety, loss prevention, point-of-sale procedures, cash balancing, and maintaining an orderly sales environment. Associates must be available to meet business needs, may need to work in multiple stores in the assigned district, and must have reliable transportation.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and coworkers.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street-lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships by providing attentive, professional, courteous, honest, reliable, and responsive service.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance with product selection.
Use fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying loss or store inconsistencies to help achieve shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Help minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft and following loss-prevention policies and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during the assignment, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
