About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other assigned responsibilities. Duties are expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a focus on results. The position involves helping customers identify and select appropriate products, maintaining store standards and a neat sales environment, supporting inventory and loss-prevention practices, and assisting with operational compliance and employee training. The standard work week is a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours. The position requires open availability and flexibility to meet customer and business needs, and may require working in multiple stores within the assigned district. The role is based at Annapolis Mall in Annapolis, Maryland.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimum supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style-trend knowledge and interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships and provide professional, courteous, attentive, honest, and responsive service.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance with product selection.
Use fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring store issues and shrink performance.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support the training of employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Help prevent inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft and following loss-prevention and security procedures.
Follow point-of-sale procedures, balance money received during an assignment, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other relevant information.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
