About The Position

The Sales Associate provides quality customer service and drives product sales. The role requires knowledge of the store’s product areas and departments, promotion of sales and offers, and adherence to company policies, procedures, and visual standards. As an ambassador for the organization and brand, the Sales Associate creates a distinctive customer experience that helps acquire and retain customers. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position in the Operations department at the Colonial Heights, Virginia (Southgate Square) location, reporting to the Store Manager. The listed hourly pay is $13.60.

Requirements

0–2 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and precisely.
Team player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

Provide extraordinary customer service, including assisting customers as they enter the store and helping multiple customers during peak periods.
Promote and sell the organization’s services and merchandise.
Set goals to develop selling skills and track overall sales.
Uphold company policies, procedures, and standards outlined in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, as well as company memos.
Assist with daily store operations, including work lists, cleanup lists, weekly shipments, and store maintenance.
Present merchandise to promote and sell products, following guidance in the product knowledge manual.
Meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
Identify and communicate merchandise needs, pricing concerns, and operational problems to store management.
Attend all store staff meetings and tech clinics.
Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are accurate and effective, and report potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.
