About The Position

Petland Sales Associates, also referred to as Pet Counselors, help match pets with customers and address the needs of both. They provide customer service, educate customers about pets’ basic needs and Petland’s offerings, and support animal care and store operations. The role is intended for people who love animals and want to build or advance a career in the pet industry. Petland describes opportunities for training, education, and career advancement, and a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Match the right pet with the right customer and meet the needs of both.
• Provide top-notch customer service.
• Educate customers on each pet’s basic needs.
• Educate customers on the value of Petland pets, including the 5-Step Sale and 4 Basic Needs, and on programs Petland offers to provide customers with a strong experience and peace of mind.
• Maintain excellent animal husbandry by completing opening, daily, and closing procedures.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
• Assist with community service projects in and outside the store as needed.
• Assist Animal Care Technicians with additional animal care as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
