Sales Associate (Part-Time) - Hanes Mall, Winston-Salem, NC
About The Position
The Part-Time Sales Associate drives sales efforts and customer relationships by providing strong customer service and using effective selling techniques. The role includes daily store functions such as product merchandising and sales, customer relations, and store maintenance. Customer service, sales, and teamwork are the central aspects of the position. The associate supports shipments, restocking, pricing, visual standards, inventory presentation, loss prevention, and keeping the store neat and organized. Previous retail or customer service experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Effectively communicate in English with management, customers, and other employees.
- Possess basic fashion and style trend knowledge and a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical abilities, attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, and interpersonal skills to support customer service, accurate inventory control, merchandise transport, and store maintenance.
- Be able to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
- Have reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use basic fashion and trend knowledge to identify appropriate merchandise for customers, satisfy their needs, and build customer relationships while maintaining DTLR standards.
- Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
- Present a positive, energetic, and outgoing impression to customers and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
- Comply with company policies.
- Participate in service training and product programs.
- Follow visual standards, complete daily restocking, and maintain adequate size runs according to visual directions.
- Assist in preventing employee and customer theft.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
- Help keep the store organized as directed by store management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
