About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you provide an excellent shoe-store experience by creating a welcoming environment, engaging customers, sharing knowledge of trends and brands, and helping customers find shoes that meet their needs. You contribute to a supportive, inclusive team culture and help customers feel the Famous Feeling.

The role supports daily store operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, inventory, and maintaining a clean, organized, shoppable store. Associates help drive store sales and goals, communicate with teammates, follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and assist with training and development when needed. Other responsibilities may be performed as needed to meet business needs; overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, engaging customer service and recommend shoes and styles suited to customers’ needs.
• Stay informed about trends and share product and brand knowledge with customers.
• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop in accordance with company standards.
• Review store performance and contribute to achieving sales goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work to improve skills.
• Support an inclusive and respectful work environment and assist teammates with training and development when needed.
