About The Position

The Sales Associate is responsible for greeting and connecting with customers while sharing information about products, makers, and the Tender Loving Empire brand. The role prioritizes customer engagement, store appearance, product knowledge, and sales. The position is based at the SeaTac International Airport store. It has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in specialty retail and/or customer service.
Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively one-on-one and in small-group situations to customers, vendors, and coworkers.
Ability to use Slack and communicate effectively through it.
Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
Ability to work between multiple Tender Loving Empire locations.
Weekend availability and availability three to five weekdays.
Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of oneself or others.

Responsibilities

Create an exceptional customer experience by circulating the sales floor and connecting customers with products and offerings.
Keep merchandise stocked, clean, and presentable.
Accurately ring up sales using the point-of-sale system, process refunds, and address or escalate inventory discrepancies.
Help customers determine their needs or interests and recommend products based on their individual connections.
Build relationships with customers and identify opportunities to expand their purchases.
Use company training and literature to maintain current knowledge of products and vendors.
Maintain cleanliness and organization standards for the sales floor, stockroom, and storage areas.
Sign customers up for the TLE & Me rewards program and explain program incentives.
Stay informed about current promotions and make customers aware of them.
Open and close the store within scheduled times and complete daily and weekly tasks.
Seek opportunities to meet daily financial goals.
