About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you provide a welcoming store environment and a strong customer experience, helping customers find shoes that suit their needs and achieve the right fit. You stay informed about trends, share product knowledge, and contribute to customer loyalty and the Famous Footwear culture. You are a supportive team player who celebrates individual and team successes.

The role supports daily store operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory, while keeping the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You contribute to sales goals, communicate with teammates, follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and support training and development when needed. Other responsibilities may be performed as needed to meet business needs; overtime may be required.

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours. Physical duties include lifting up to 40 pounds and frequent movement and activity on the sales floor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive customer engagement and help customers find suitable styles, brands, and fits.
• Stay informed about trends and share relevant knowledge with customers.
• Complete daily store tasks such as pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easily shoppable according to company standards.
• Review store performance and drive sales to achieve goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and actively listen to teammates.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work to improve skills.
• Contribute to an inclusive and respectful work environment and support teammates.
• Assist with training and development when needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet business needs.
