About The Position

The Sales Associate creates an outstanding optical experience for guests by combining product knowledge, experience, and a personable approach with guests’ needs and the company’s fashion brands. The role supports Target Optical’s mission to provide quality, affordable vision care products and services and a positive experience for guests and the community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of retail or customer service experience.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, computers, and calculators, as well as basic phone and math skills.
• Ability to embrace new technology and change while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to sell using sales skills and be accountable for sales results, with a desire to meet goals.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivation and demonstrated ability to multitask and respond flexibly in a quickly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver sales plans and company objectives by cultivating existing customer relationships and building new ones.
• Use optical prescriptions to recommend specific lenses and lens coatings.
• Assist patients in selecting frames and coordinate frames with optical measurements to help customers choose a vision solution.
• Conduct measurements with appropriate optical tools and consult with an Optician as needed.
• Contribute to a positive store environment and build professional relationships with peers, management, doctors, and support staff (Target Host partners).
• Maintain the store’s appearance and take initiative to keep displays and inventory clean, attractive, and organized.
• Help foster an inclusive culture by treating customers and colleagues with respect.
