About The Position

Talbots is hiring a Sales Associate Key for its Northshore Mall store. The role provides exceptional customer service, promotes products, builds customer and brand relationships, and supports store business and operational excellence. The associate uses product and fashion knowledge to help customers create outfits and find items that suit their needs, while meeting sales and service metrics. The position may also involve leading or supervising others on occasion and opening or closing the store. This is a regular, part-time position in Peabody, Massachusetts, paying $15.50–$19.40 per hour.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a high level of integrity.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
• Ability to climb ladders, move around regularly, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, and stretch for products, and to lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds.
• Technological aptitude to navigate POS, computer, iPad, and handheld systems.
• Flexible availability based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Customer-centric approach and ability to create exceptional customer experiences.
• Ability to build relationships and work toward individual and team goals in a team environment.
• Passion for selling and ability to maximize store traffic through organized, thoughtful selling.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes products and builds brand relationships.
• Assist the management team in building store business.
• Serve multiple customers, multitask, and handle projects simultaneously.
• Stay informed about fashion trends and new arrivals, including product fit, color, and fashion details.
• Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits and recommend items suited to customers’ needs.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships that support a productive work environment.
• Communicate store information, brand initiatives, discrepancies, and other pertinent information to management.
• Achieve sales and service metrics, including Talbots Classic Awards.
• Participate in learning opportunities and respond to direction, coaching, and feedback to maximize performance.
• Support operational excellence, including managing inventory according to policies and procedures; filling orders; processing recalls; and completing recovery, replenishment, and re-ticketing.
• Plan and prioritize tasks to meet customer and business needs.
• Lead or supervise others on occasion and open or close the store.
• Understand customer needs and wants through intentional conversation.
