About The Position

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a part-time Sales Assistant for its Plymouth branch. The position is a fixed-term contract until July 2027, working 30 hours per week. The role combines customer service and sales with general warehouse duties. The salary is £20,021 plus bonus and benefits.

Requirements

• Previous face-to-face sales and customer service experience is essential.
• Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Team-player attitude and willingness to assist in all areas of the branch.
• Eagerness to learn, a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and a strong work ethic.

• Plumbing and heating knowledge is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and courteously to customer enquiries by phone and email.
• Serve customers at the trade counter, understand their needs, and provide advice and product recommendations.
• Make outbound calls to previous customers to regain their business.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to drive branch sales with new and existing customers.
• Carry out general warehouse duties, including picking and packing orders and manually handling heavy stock such as boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets.
• Assist across all areas to help ensure the smooth running of the branch.
