About The Position

Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales & Catering Manager is responsible for soliciting, contracting, and finalizing smaller groups, with or without event space, as defined by the property. The role includes supporting the Sales team and ensuring follow-up for all group related activities, including lodging, meeting space, catering, and special events, in line with sales and marketing strategy and objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Sales and Catering position
  • Guest service experience
  • Knowledge of the hotel industry and the boutique hotel concept
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High level of discretion
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail

  • College or University degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Opera Cloud is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prospect new business opportunities through outbound sales activities, including cold calls, email outreach, referrals, networking, and lead generation.
  • Develop and manage an assigned portfolio of local accounts, maintaining regular contact to grow existing business and identify new opportunities.
  • Conduct proactive sales calls and client visits to strengthen relationships and generate repeat business.
  • Identify opportunities to increase hotel revenue through cross-selling and upselling guestrooms, meeting space, catering, and additional hotel services.
  • Maintain accurate client information, sales activities, and account updates within Opera and other sales systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for booking and detailing small groups requiring rooms and catering, ensuring group block information in Opera is accurate, entering rooming lists, setting up billing, and handling other necessary preparations.
  • Manage rooming lists, arrange audiovisual needs, configure event spaces, and prepare final invoices.
  • Follow up with clients during the billing process to ensure deposits are received and final bills are paid within seven days of group departure.
  • Act as the liaison between operations and sales teams, keeping all parties informed of relevant developments.
  • Coordinate activities according to contracts in collaboration with other departments.
  • Manage and maintain Opera profiles for VIP clients, travel agents, and companies, in collaboration with the sales management team.
  • Answer and address all general inquiry calls directed to the sales team.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up with clients to gather feedback, strengthen relationships, and identify future business opportunities.
  • Represent the hotel at networking events and client functions as required.
  • Support sales initiatives, promotional campaigns, and strategic prospecting activities.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to achieve departmental revenue goals and maintain strong client relationships.
