About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting new accounts and maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing accounts. This role involves conducting site visits, booking events, meeting and greeting clients, developing menus, writing contracts, and supervising event setup and implementation. The position requires extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations, and service standards, along with strong interpersonal skills for client needs assessment, negotiation, and guest satisfaction. The role also emphasizes professionalism, positive guest interactions, adherence to hotel standards, and a commitment to safety and security.

  • Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction.
  • Effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Presents a professional appearance and manner.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times, treating all guests and associates with courtesy and respect.
  • Meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance.
  • Adaptable to change in work area and hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
  • Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever unsure.
  • Adhere to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits or call individual corporate clients by telephone to solicit annual, week day and weekend business.
  • Book group catering events and meetings within the booking parameters, ensuring the sales progress seamlessly and accurately by following established processes and procedures.
  • Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours, and promote facilities and services. Answers client inquiries.
  • Close sales by collecting client deposits and signed contacts. Confirm final billing and accuracy prior to processing final bill.
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events.
  • Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings. Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts.
  • Other duties as required.
