About The Position

The Safety Planning develops and administers programs that protect employees, contractors, facilities, and surrounding communities while ensuring regulatory compliance with guidance. The role works across HPLS functions and external partners to deliver safe, compliant, timely, and sustainable results during project execution and ongoing operations.

Requirements

  • Professional working proficiency in both English and Korean is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Fire Protection, Engineering, or a related field.
  • No prior full-time experience required; relevant internship, co-op, academic project, military, or technical experience is valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, analyze information, document work, and collaborate across functions.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft 365 and job-relevant enterprise or technical systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrate safety ownership, ethical judgment, respectful teamwork, technical or functional excellence, disciplined execution, accurate documentation, timely escalation of risk, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Safety or occupational-health experience in steel, chemical, energy, construction, or heavy manufacturing.
  • CSP, CIH, CHMM, ASP, OHST, EMT, fire-protection, or related credential.
  • Experience with PSM, emergency response, contractor safety, industrial hygiene, or safety management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage safety standards, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate safety-related meetings, maintain meeting records and minutes.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop, implement, and periodically audit safety and occupational-health policies, standards, procedures, and training.
  • Interpret OSHA and other applicable requirements and translate them into practical site controls.
  • Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective-action tracking.
  • Monitor leading and lagging indicators and prepare reports, trend analyses, and recommendations for management.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness, contractor safety, permit-to-work, process safety, industrial hygiene, or fire-prevention activities as assigned.
  • Support regulatory inspections and maintain complete, audit-ready compliance records.
