Safety & Fleet Manager

BonfeSouth Saint Paul, MN
Onsite

About The Position

At Bonfe, safety isn’t a checkbox, it’s a core part of how we operate. We’re looking for a high-accountability leader who will take full ownership of safety and fleet operations across a growing, fast-paced home service business. This is not a sit-behind-the-desk role. You’ll be in the field, responding to incidents, coaching teams, and holding the line on safety standards every single day. If you’re looking for a low-pressure or purely administrative role, this is not it. This role directly protects our employees, our customers, and our reputation. Your impact will be felt across every department—reducing risk, improving operations, and ensuring we deliver at the highest level.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of leadership experience in field service, construction, or trades
  • Direct experience managing workplace injuries, accidents, and workers’ comp claims
  • Experience with fleet operations or vehicle management strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance
  • Comfortable handling high-pressure, real-time incident response
  • Proven ability to hold teams accountable (not just influence)
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Tech-savvy and able to learn systems quickly

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve all company-wide safety programs
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all applicable regulations
  • Conduct regular job site visits, ride-alongs, and safety audits
  • Drive a culture of accountability, not just awareness
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all injuries and vehicle accidents
  • On-call 24/7 for incident response (outside of approved PTO)
  • Lead investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Partner directly with workers’ comp carriers, adjusters, and insurance providers
  • Own all documentation, reporting, and follow-through
  • Build and deliver ongoing safety training programs
  • Identify unsafe behaviors and coach or correct immediately
  • Maintain accurate reporting and safety records
  • Work with leadership to enforce standards
  • Oversee performance, maintenance, and compliance of company fleet
  • Ensure all vehicles are safe, operational, and inspection-ready
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules and repairs
  • Track utilization, costs, and replacement planning
  • Support vehicle purchasing and upfitting decisions
  • Manage GPS, dash cams, and driver monitoring systems
  • Use data to coach drivers and reduce risk
  • Build reporting dashboards for leadership visibility
