About The Position

This is a full-time grant-funded position. This position will end on June 30, 2027; however, it is anticipated that funding for this position will be continued. Filling this position and continuation of the position in future years will be contingent on the terms of the grant and dependent on future funding. The Safe Babies Court Team Community Coordinator will work with the Safe Babies Court Team (SBCT), community agencies, and judges in designated county to support local SBCT activities. The Community Coordinator will facilitate coordination and collaboration among community stakeholders for the SBCT, schedule SBCT meetings, keep and disseminate minutes, conduct follow-up activities related to SBCT goals, and perform related duties as required. This position requires some statewide travel.

Requirements

Graduation from a four year college or university with a degree in court administration, criminal justice, public administration, business, or a related filed, and one year of experience in the court system to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work described; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge of program development and management, practices in juvenile abuse/neglect/dependency court.
Skills in developing administrative policies and procedures and local court rules and designing and delivering related training.
Ability to collaborate with judges and court staff in implementing programs, give presentations, analyze data, and write reports.
Knowledge of local community resources including: early care and education, health, mental health, child welfare, early intervention, and behavioral health.
Knowledge of issues related to child abuse and neglect.
Knowledge of juvenile and family court functioning.
Working knowledge of racial equity, historical trauma, poverty, intimate partner violence, child and adult development, parental history of childhood trauma, mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental and intellectual disabilities and their impact on family functioning.
Experience in creating and conducting presentations for large groups of professionals.
Engages in continuous quality improvement to evaluate the SBCTs effectiveness by collecting and interpreting data.
Networks and communicates with Community Coordinators in other ITCP communities

Responsibilities

Works with local child welfare stakeholders to implement recommendations of the Safe Babies Court Team (SBCT) and develop policies and procedures to implement the local program.
Provides neutral facilitation of, and documentation for, a multi-disciplinary team/family team meetings that meet monthly to assist children and their families in developing strategies to mitigate the circumstances that brought them to the court’s attention.
Acts as a liaison for identifying community-based resources and supports and disseminates the information to other agencies and families.
Tracks monthly follow-up activities for each case monitored by the SBCT.
Assesses community's needs for training/technical assistance to meet goals of the SBCT.
Provides training related to trauma, family engagement, learning disabilities, relating to intellectually disabled parents, and other topics pertinent to the needs of the families served by SBCT.
Handles logistical arrangements for local training and work collaboratively with other organizations to provide training regionally or statewide.
Coordinates with in-state SBCT community agencies to arrange local training and technical assistance activities and resources.
Builds a strong collaborative relationship with the Statewide SBCT Coordinators to ensure consistency in implementing the SBCT approach.
Implements evaluation plan and helps collect data on SBCT cases.
Formulates specialized and comprehensive statistical data used in analysis process.
Participates in regular project conference calls and prepares and delivers presentations to management staff.
Creates connections with community partners to recruit for and develop an Active Community Team (ACT).
Convenes and facilitates monthly ACT meetings to promote collective impact for systems change.
Engages families early in the SBCT process and ensures that their input is valued throughout their child welfare/court journey.
