About The Position

Safe Alliance is seeking a Bilingual Court Advocate to support the agency's mission of providing hope and healing to those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child maltreatment. This role involves providing direct services to survivors using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach. Responsibilities include intake, assessment, case management, crisis intervention, safety planning, court education, information, and referrals. The advocate will offer in-person and virtual courtroom support, accompaniment, and outreach, and assist clients with completing DVPO paperwork. The position also requires facilitating support groups and maintaining confidential client records. Additionally, the role involves grant reporting, ensuring adherence to agency documentation procedures, and translating Safe Alliance documents. The advocate will also contribute to community outreach through public speaking and media engagement, and foster professional relationships with staff, volunteers, stakeholders, and community partners. Continuous professional development is expected to stay informed about best practices in trauma and victimization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Experience
  • Spanish-speaking preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide intake, assessment, case management, crisis intervention, safety planning, court education, information, and referrals using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.
  • Provide in person and virtual Courtroom support, accompaniment and outreach to survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and child maltreatment.
  • Assist client with completing DVPO paperwork.
  • Ensure coordinated client care with key community partners.
  • Act with client in mind and work to meet client's needs and expectations to the extent possible.
  • Facilitate support group(s).
  • Maintain confidential and accurate, up to date client, stakeholder, intern, and volunteer records, program and agency records in agency databases.
  • Research, write, and manage grant reporting and grantor relationships as assigned by supervisor.
  • Adhere to agency and program procedures concerning documentation, Critical Incident Reports, and Client Satisfaction Surveys, and participate in the Quality Assurance process.
  • Translation of Safe Alliance documents when applicable.
  • Increase awareness of victimization, prevention, and available resources through public speaking and media requests as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participate in community meetings and committees as assigned by supervisor.
  • Promote and maintain professional relationships with agency staff, volunteers, interns, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Stay informed of best practices, developments, and trends in the area of trauma and victimization, especially as it relates to intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and child maltreatment.
  • Maintain and develop skills and knowledge by attending training and ensure licensure and certifications are up to date as needed for the job.
  • Contribute to agency effectiveness by performing other duties as assigned.
