About The Position

The Rx Benefits Associate responds to member and pharmacy inquiries about prescription discounts, prescription pricing, insurance benefits, and pharmacy claims. The role educates members about discount-card benefits and use, supports members in understanding and selecting medical insurance benefits, verifies insurance benefits and pharmacy locations, and provides information about home delivery through an online pharmacy. The associate also routes calls to other departments when needed and handles requests to stop promotional mail. This is a fully remote contract position based out of Houston, Texas, with a pay rate of $19 per hour. Training is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; regular shifts may fall Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. The anticipated start date is November 30, 2026.

Requirements

• Demonstrate empathy and patience when supporting members with sensitive health and insurance concerns.
• Have experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
• Accurately record member interactions and application reviews through data entry and documentation.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and possibly Access or Teams.
• Be able to use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Teams and work with dual monitors while toggling between systems.
• Be able to read, speak, and take notes simultaneously during a phone call.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and adapt or remain flexible.

Responsibilities

• Address member concerns about using discount cards.
• Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist members with prescription price inquiries and insurance benefit questions.
• Educate members about discount-card benefits and use for prescribed medications.
• Provide physical discount cards and information about home delivery through an online pharmacy.
• Help members elect and understand their medical insurance benefits.
• Verify members’ insurance benefits and pharmacy locations.
• Transfer calls to appropriate departments, such as dental plans or medical benefits, for further support.
• Opt members out of promotional mail upon request.
• Assist pharmacies with claim-submission issues and troubleshooting.
• Provide prescription benefit details to members and pharmacies.
