About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, professional armed Security Officer to support safety and security operations within upscale country club communities in Palm Beach Gardens. The role combines access control, foot and vehicle patrols, surveillance, emergency response, incident reporting, and customer service. Officers help protect people and equipment, prevent criminal activity, enforce property rules and post orders, and maintain a courteous, polished presence with residents, members, employees, guests, and visitors.

The schedule varies according to business needs. Officers must be available for weekdays and weekends, and may be asked with little or no advance notice to work irregular shifts covering call-offs, vacation leaves, or additional coverage. Specific weekly hours are not guaranteed. Assignments may be indoors or outdoors and require work in diverse weather conditions and occasional high-stress situations. The position requires extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting; patrol across varied terrain; and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies. The stated pay rate is $20.00 to $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Florida Class D and G security licenses.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background screening, drug test, and mental health assessment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to draft reports.

• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and exercise good judgment and situational awareness.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to work legally in the United States.

• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekdays and weekends, with schedules that may vary weekly and may include short-notice coverage requests.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods; traverse the property and varied surfaces; and maintain alertness and professional posture during an 8-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Ability to react quickly in emergencies, including running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
• Visual ability to monitor CCTV and observe surroundings, and auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
• Ability to reach frequently and occasionally squat, kneel, or stoop to inspect vehicles or property.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain awareness of the site.
• Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments promptly in the event of fire, medical emergencies, or unauthorized persons.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Verify guest and vendor credentials, permit authorized entry, and monitor entrances and exits.
• Warn people of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Serve as a visible deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
