About The Position

Sentry Force Security is seeking a dependable, professional, and alert Armed Roving Patrol Security Officer to provide mobile security patrols throughout Norfolk, Virginia. The role requires strong observation skills, sound judgment, a professional demeanor, and an excellent driving record. The officer conducts armed patrols of assigned properties and areas, responds to incidents and security concerns, documents activities, and communicates with supervisors, dispatch, clients, and law enforcement as needed. Applicants must meet licensing, driving, screening, and firearms qualification requirements.

Requirements

• Valid Virginia DCJS Armed Security Officer registration.
• Excellent driving record and a valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain alert, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately in stressful situations.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.
• Ability to meet applicable firearms qualification and employer screening requirements.
• Must successfully complete applicable background checks and any required pre-employment screenings.
• Must maintain all required security credentials and firearms qualifications.
• Must be able to perform the essential duties of a mobile patrol position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed mobile patrols of assigned properties, facilities, and designated areas.
• Operate a company vehicle safely while performing routine security patrols.
• Monitor properties for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and security-related calls as directed.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in detailed reports.
• Enforce site rules and security procedures professionally.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, clients, and law enforcement when necessary.
• Maintain a visible security presence and help deter criminal activity.
• Follow company policies, post orders, and applicable Virginia DCJS regulations.
