About The Position

The Roving Field Officer provides armed security services in upscale country club communities in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The role supports site safety through patrols, access control, surveillance, emergency response, enforcement of property rules, and detailed reporting while maintaining a courteous, professional, high-quality customer-service presence with residents, members, employees, guests, and visitors.

The position requires availability for a variety of weekday and weekend shifts. Schedules may vary weekly according to business needs, and specific weekly hours are not guaranteed. The officer may be asked to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice to cover absences, vacation leave, or additional coverage needs. Assignments may be indoors or outdoors and may involve varying weather conditions, extended periods of observation and movement, and occasional high-stress situations.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Class D and G security licenses.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background screening and drug test.
• Ability to pass a mental health assessment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to draft reports.
• Active listening skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate good judgment and situational awareness.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to work legally in the United States.
• Must successfully complete all training required for the position.
• Ability to work varied weekday and weekend shifts; schedules may vary and weekly hours are not guaranteed.
• Ability to perform indoor and outdoor duties in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods, traverse the property, or move between posts during an 8-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Ability to walk continuously on pavement, grass, and uneven terrain during patrols.
• Ability to react quickly in emergencies, potentially including running, climbing stairs, and navigating obstacles.
• Visual acuity to monitor CCTV and surroundings, and auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
• Frequent reaching and occasional squatting, kneeling, or stooping to inspect vehicles or property.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain mental alertness and attention to detail during extended observation.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain awareness of site activity.
• Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments immediately in response to fires, medical emergencies, or unauthorized persons.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Verify guest and vendor credentials, authorize entry for permitted persons, and monitor entrances and exits.
• Warn people of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and suspicious activity and prepare detailed reports.
• Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional assistance to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Serve as a visible deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
