About The Position

Mr. Greens Produce is hiring a Router for its Arlington, Texas warehouse. The company is a privately owned produce distributor that serves restaurants, hotels, country clubs, caterers, grocery stores, and retail outlets, with deliveries throughout the year and multiple runs per day. The Router creates and manages efficient delivery routes, taking account of travel and service times, DOT restrictions, traffic, customer time constraints, staffing levels, and driver capabilities. The role also includes order picking and transfer preparation, verifying and securing products for transport, and performing lift truck and battery checks when directed.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Data entry experience.
Ownership, self-starter mindset, and strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
Critical analytical skills.
Ability to adapt to changes based on business needs.
Flexibility to shift schedule and work overtime as needed by the business unit.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Experience with routing software and logistics.

Responsibilities

Create efficient delivery routes using travel and service times, DOT restrictions, and traffic patterns.
Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced according to company standards and agreements.
Work with the manager to coordinate routes based on staffing levels and drivers’ capabilities.
Maximize truck capacity when planning routes.
Follow up with drivers about route improvements or concerns.
Ensure timely deliveries to customers with time constraints.
Coordinate return pickups while maintaining efficient routing and safe load transportation.
Pull customer orders and transfers efficiently and accurately.
Assemble orders and transfers in the identified lag area and ensure they are properly packed and labeled.
Stack large orders on pallets and secure them using stretch wrap.
Verify product and product counts for accuracy.
Ensure loads are stable and secure to prevent damage and meet DOT requirements.
Perform daily checks on the lift truck and battery if directed.
