About The Position

A Router fields incoming calls from drivers and customer service, gathers and records delivery-time information and delivery status for selected accounts, and routes orders for next-day deliveries. The role also assists with other functions required by the transportation department.

The Router administers and maintains the routing system, sets up new accounts, prints and sorts pick tickets for shippers, performs dispatching functions, and reconciles driver manifests. Routing of orders and trucks is performed independently; all work is regularly reviewed by a supervisor and manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience in a transportation or warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of delivery areas.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to use a computer terminal effectively and operate other office equipment.
• Regularly able to talk and hear.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to perform data-entry functions continuously.
