About The Position

The Route Utility Relief Driver supports the Service Departments in meeting customer needs through excellent customer service, up-selling, and cross-selling. The position reports directly to the District Manager and provides reliable relief-driver support to service teams. The driver delivers products and picks up soiled linens on assigned routes, follows service procedures, manages customer accounts, and helps maintain accurate route and inventory records. The role also involves operating vehicles on public roads and at customer sites and industrial laundry facilities, as well as loading and unloading products and moving loaded carts.

Requirements

• Have and maintain a valid driver's license; a CDL is required when applicable.
• Be 21 years or older.
• Maintain a driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding, safety, or other violations.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and be able to comprehend and follow directions.
• Have two years of relevant experience in sales, customer service, delivery, or public-facing work.
• Be able to accurately recognize colors and sizes.
• Be able to stoop, pull, push, reach overhead, lift up to 75 lbs., and move loaded carts up to 500 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products and pick up soiled linens on assigned routes safely and on time.
• Provide outstanding customer service to build customer loyalty and strong relationships.
• Communicate with decision-makers and proactively resolve service concerns.
• Follow Service SOPs for installations, deliveries, and account management.
• Maintain accurate inventories, route books, and customer files.
• Handle customer payments, credits, and change orders accurately.
• Monitor accounts and report customer feedback or competitive activity.
• Upsell services, promote products, and refer leads to Sales.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain truck cleanliness.
• Load and unload products and move carts weighing up to 500 lbs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and dress code.
• Collaborate with service, sales, and operations teams as a reliable relief driver.
• Support other service team members where required.
