About The Position

The Route Trainee (RT) receives hands-on training through UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program while supporting daily service operations and preparing to transition into a Route Service Representative (RSR) role. The trainee assists with deliveries, customer service, and route coverage while learning multiple customer accounts. The role involves operating a company walk-in truck on designated routes, delivering clean garments and products, and collecting soiled items. It is physically active and includes indoor and outdoor work. The schedule is Monday through Friday during the daytime, with no nights or weekends.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
Meet Department of Transportation requirements, including a physical exam.
Have a high school diploma, GED, or military service.
Provide excellent customer service and be able to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
Be comfortable using and learning new technologies.
Be able to lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery.

Responsibilities

Participate in the Service Certificate Program and complete hands-on training to prepare for a Route Service Representative role.
Load and unload route trucks to support daily operations.
Deliver clean garments and products to customers and return soiled items.
Cover established routes when Route Service Representatives are absent.
Operate a company walk-in truck on designated routes while prioritizing safety and providing professional customer service.
Build and maintain customer relationships and contribute to the success of the Service Department.
