About The Position

The Route Trainee (RT) receives hands-on training through UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program and blended learning programs while supporting daily service operations and preparing to transition into a Route Service Representative (RSR) role. The trainee assists with deliveries, service, and route coverage while learning multiple customer accounts. The role involves operating a company walk-in truck on designated routes, serving customers face-to-face, and working in indoor and outdoor environments. The schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with no nights or weekends.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
Meet Department of Transportation requirements, including a physical exam.
Have a high school diploma, GED, or military service.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
Be comfortable using and learning new technologies.
Be able to lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery.

Responsibilities

Participate in the Service Certificate Program and complete hands-on training to prepare for a Route Service Representative role.
Load and unload route trucks to support daily operations.
Deliver clean garments and products to customers and collect soiled items.
Cover established routes when Route Service Representatives are absent.
Operate a company walk-in truck on designated routes, prioritizing safe driving and strong customer relationships.
Provide reliable, timely customer service and represent UniFirst professionally.
Work with teammates and leadership to support daily operations and resolve issues.
