About The Position

Sets up the tray assembly line for cold food, beverages, and soup, and places items on patient trays according to patient menu selections. Delivers and retrieves meal trays from patients in their hospital rooms and calculates the amount of fluids and percentage of food consumed. Performs related duties such as preparing basic food items, loading tray delivery carts, transporting carts to and from patient care areas, working in ware washing as necessary, keeping the work area clean and orderly, and working in other assigned areas within the department.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and follow written instructions.

Nice To Haves

Approximately one month of on-the-job experience to learn trayline procedures, become familiar with trayline assembly, and learn department and Medical Center policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Set up the tray assembly line for cold food, beverages, and soup.
Place items on patient trays according to patient menu selections.
Deliver and retrieve meal trays from patients in their hospital rooms.
Calculate the amount of fluids and percentage of food patients consume from their meal trays.
Prepare basic food items.
Load tray delivery carts and transport carts to and from patient care areas.
Work in ware washing as necessary.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Work in other assigned areas within the department.
