Room Service Server
About The Position
Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital seeks a Room Service Server for its Nutrition department. The role provides service excellence to patients and guests as they select room-service meals and nourishments, using departmental nutrition software and the medical record to support communication and implementation of physician-generated dietary orders. The server provides information about menu items, preparation methods, and allergens, takes meal orders, and delivers meals to inpatients in a room-service setting. Minimum qualifications include a California Food Handlers Card within seven days of hire or transfer, English reading and writing ability, basic arithmetic skills, computer skills sufficient to navigate the hospital intranet and departmental programs, basic Microsoft Office knowledge, and one year of hospitality or service-industry experience. A ServSafe certificate, knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition software, and two years of hospitality or service-industry experience are preferred.
Requirements
- California Food Handlers Card within seven days of hire or transfer into the role.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Computer skills sufficient to navigate the hospital intranet and learn department-specific programs.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office.
- At least one year of previous experience in the hospitality or service industry.

Responsibilities
