About The Position

The Room Service Server takes and delivers in-room food and drink orders, serves food and beverages, prepares itemized checks, and accepts payments. The role provides prompt, accurate, warm, courteous, and professional service while supporting guest satisfaction and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout operations. The server also helps set up and break down service areas and works collaboratively with team members to meet service goals. The position is part-time and based in Dallas, Texas. It reports to the Food & Beverage Manager and pays $15.00 per hour. The work is primarily indoors, with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes. The role may require working days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

Requirements

Basic arithmetic skills to total costs and make change.
Ability to communicate clearly and provide information to guests and team members.
Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
Proficiency with P.O.S. systems for order processing.
Ability to meet the position's requirements, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable certification requirements, such as Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, and Safety.
Serve guests food and beverage orders in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
Keep the room service area and café wait station clean and tidy.
Operate the P.O.S. system to take and process orders.
Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures throughout service.
Provide prompt and accurate service to ensure guest satisfaction.
Handle cash and process payments according to hotel standards.
Prepare itemized checks and provide guests with detailed order information.
Assist with setup and breakdown of service areas as needed.
Lift and carry trays or other heavy objects as necessary.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet service goals.
