About The Position

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Room Service Server for its Nutrition department. The role provides service excellence to patients and guests as they select room service meals and nourishments, using departmental nutrition software and the medical record to support communication and implementation of physician-generated dietary orders. The Room Service Server provides knowledgeable information about food and beverage menu items, preparation methods, and allergens, takes meal orders from patients, and delivers meals to inpatients in a room service setting.

Requirements

• Obtain a California Food Handlers Card within 7 days of hire or transfer into the role.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Computer skills sufficient to navigate Cottage's intranet site and learn department-specific programs.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office.
• At least 1 year of previous experience in the hospitality or service industry.

Nice To Haves

• ServSafe certificate.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition software.
• 2 years of previous experience in the hospitality or service industry.
