About The Position

The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and well-presented guest rooms while delivering attentive, courteous, and efficient service. This role is essential to ensuring a positive guest experience and upholding Salamander Hotels & Resorts’ standards of quality, safety, and hospitality.

Requirements

  • Comply with Salamander Hotels & Resorts standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to understand basic spoken and written English sufficient to follow safety guidelines, work instructions, emergency procedures, and guest service.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including nametag and pin.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the business needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain an attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous demeanor and approach to all guests, managers, and fellow Service Professionals.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with scheduling needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and training sessions.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
  • On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly clean and service assigned guest rooms according to established standards.
  • Make beds, change linens, and replenish guest amenities and supplies.
  • Remove trash and soiled linens from guest rooms and hallways.
  • Clean bathrooms, floors, furniture, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Complete all pre-cleaning duties, including stocking housekeeping carts with linens, guest supplies, and cleaning products.
  • Maintain cleanliness of hallways, closets, and assigned public areas as applicable.
  • Restock and organize housekeeping closets and replenish chemical bottles for daily operations.
  • Clean guest rooms with the door closed unless otherwise requested by the guest.
  • Report missing items, maintenance issues, and safety hazards promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
  • Handle lost-and-found items in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain guest privacy, confidentiality, and room security at all times.
  • Assist in laundry when needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
