About The Position

The Room Attendant is part of the Housekeeping team at The Midland Hotel, a 403-room hotel in Chicago managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality. The role helps create memorable guest experiences by preparing and maintaining guest rooms and ensuring assigned guest areas are thoroughly clean and sanitary. The position is described as a key service role that supports guests’ comfort and the hotel’s cleanliness standards. Experienced housekeepers may have opportunities to advance into supervisory or management roles.

Requirements

Housekeeping experience is desirable.
Neat appearance and pleasant personality.
Time management skills.
Ability to work on one’s feet for an extended period.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions.
Ability to move, traverse, and position oneself to reach floor corners and high places; observe conditions and detect odors; and position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 pounds in tight spaces.
Ability to operate spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters.
Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well.
Work as part of a team to achieve hotel cleanliness goals.
Keep the work cart orderly and properly stocked.
Use equipment, supplies, and guest amenities appropriately.
Thoroughly clean and sanitize assigned guest areas.
Change and inspect linens and towels daily according to the standards in the Green Program.
Follow safety standards, watch for hazards, and report hazards when found.
Respect guests’ property.
Take responsible care of equipment.
Arrive on time according to the posted schedule, maintain accurate time records, and follow proper standards for issuing rooms.
Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and coworkers.
Perform other related duties as requested by the Floor Supervisor.
