About The Position

The Room Attendant ensures guest rooms and suites are fresh, welcoming, clean, and comfortable, helping guests relax or work during their stay. The role follows hotel standards while adding personal touches that make rooms memorable. Room Attendants assist guests with basic requests, keep supervisors informed about room progress and needed repairs, and follow safety procedures, using protective equipment when needed. They maintain housekeeping supplies and amenities, minimize waste, and handle lost-and-found items according to established procedures. The position involves teamwork and communication with other hotel departments to support quality service. It may also include deep-cleaning projects, turndown duties, and other assigned or ad hoc tasks. The work is physical and involves standing for much of the day, occasional lifting or pushing/pulling heavy objects, and bending or kneeling. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Physical fitness to be on one's feet for most of the day.
• Ability to occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms) and/or push or pull heavy objects.
• Ability to bend and kneel to complete some activities.
• Reading, writing, and basic mathematics skills.
• Flexible attitude toward shifts, including possible nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain guest rooms and suites to hotel standards, making them fresh, welcoming, and memorable.
• Assist guests with requests, such as providing a toothbrush or directions.
• Keep the supervisor updated on room service progress and report needed repairs.
• Follow established safety procedures and wear protective equipment when needed.
• Monitor supplies and amenities and minimize waste throughout housekeeping areas.
• Report, turn in, and/or log lost-and-found items according to established procedures.
• Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments according to hotel procedures.
• Regularly assist with deep-cleaning projects as needed.
• Perform turndown duties as needed.
• Assist with other assigned or ad hoc duties.
