About The Position

The Room Attendant maintains hotel rooms and building areas to provide a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and vendors. The role involves cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms, changing bed linens, replenishing supplies, using cleaning agents and equipment, and inspecting rooms for cleanliness and appearance. The position requires regular attendance, physical cleaning work, and cooperation with coworkers.

Requirements

Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extend arms overhead for cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces.
Willingness to pitch in and help coworkers with their duties and to work as part of a team.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Clean bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.
Follow cleaning procedures and instructions for using cleaning agents.
Strip beds and make beds, including changing linens.
Thoroughly dust furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves.
Vacuum rooms and empty trash.
Replenish guest-room amenities, linens, and supplies.
Sign for room keys, retrieve them, transport them to assigned rooms, and restock the cart.
Visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and appearance and signify when room cleaning is complete.
Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
