About The Position

Lakeside Book Company is hiring a Roll Tender for its Crawfordsville, Indiana North or South Plant. The Roll Tender supports the printing process by helping maintain production efficiency and quality while working with a team. The role includes reading job tickets, selecting paper, checking folds on newly printed forms, assisting with press setup and make-ready, inspecting quality, and performing housekeeping and maintenance tasks as needed. Employees may cross-train with teammates for career development. The position offers a starting rate of $22.00 per hour on day shift, with a 7% night shift premium. The listed schedule is a 12-hour shift, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., on a 2-2-3 rotation. Internal applicants must be in good standing with no active disciplinary actions. Preference is given to candidates who participate in cross-training, achieve qualified status in the position, and serve as backups for lateral and progressive roles as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
• Ability to stand for the entire 12-hour shift.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Internal applicants must be in good standing with no active disciplinary actions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret job tickets.
• Identify and select the correct paper for each job.
• Check folds on newly printed forms.
• Assist with setup and make-ready tasks.

• Participate in cross-training and, as needed, become a qualified backup for lateral and progressive roles.
