About The Position

The Roll Tender supports Lakeside Book Company’s printing process by helping maintain efficiency and quality while working with a team. The role involves interpreting job tickets, selecting paper for jobs, checking folds on printed forms, assisting with setup and make-ready, performing quality inspections, and completing housekeeping and maintenance tasks. Employees may cross-train with teammates to develop their skills and provide backup coverage for lateral and progressive roles as needed.

This position is at the South Plant in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and works 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Starting pay is $21.39 per hour for day shift, with a 7% night-shift premium.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
• Ability to stand for the entire 12-hour shift.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Team-oriented approach.

• Microsoft or systems experience.
• General pressroom or mechanical knowledge.
• Willingness to participate in cross-training, achieve qualified status within the position, and assume backup responsibilities for lateral and progressive roles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret job tickets.
• Identify and select the correct paper for each job.
• Check folds on newly printed forms.
