About The Position

This is a 13-week temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Smithfield, Virginia. The role involves assigning duties to staff, engaging team members for optimal performance, developing and evaluating resident care plans, communicating these plans to stakeholders, identifying changes in resident condition with proper documentation, demonstrating follow-through for positive resident outcomes, utilizing good judgment and specialized skills, managing a typical nursing unit, and allowing resident choices while adhering to facility policies regarding privacy and dignity.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Assigns duties to professional and non-professional staff according to education, training, policy and resident need.
• Engages team members for optimal performance and addresses performance as needed to assure quality resident care is delivered.
• Develops, implements and evaluates resident plans of care.
• Communicates plan of care to providers, residents, families and staff.
• Identifies changes in condition with proper documentation following the Interact process.
• Demonstrates consistent follow through for positive resident outcomes.
• Utilizes good judgment and specialized skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage a typical nursing unit.
• Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety /dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.
