About The Position

The RN Wound Care Specialist coordinates wound care therapy with the total nursing care plan for patients. The role includes patient and family teaching and providing leadership through cooperation with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the clinical setting. The position reports to the Director of Wound Care and performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, documented by credentials.
Current Registered Nursing License for the state in which the employee is working.
Current CPR certification, which must be maintained.
Two years of direct patient care experience.

Nice To Haves

Certification from an approved Wound Care Certification course is preferred.
Experience in emergency care, critical care, or ET nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate wound care therapy with the total nursing care plan for patients.
Participate in patient and family teaching.
Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
