About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care Specialist coordinates wound care therapy as part of patients’ total nursing care plans. The role includes patient and family education and providing leadership through cooperation with ancillary nursing staff and other members of the patient care team to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the clinical setting. The position reports to the Director of Wound Care and performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, documented by credentials or other documents.
Current Registered Nursing License for the state in which the employee is working.
Current CPR certification and maintain that certification.
Two years of direct patient care experience.

Nice To Haves

Certification from an approved Wound Care Certification course.
Experience in emergency care, critical care, or ET nursing.

Responsibilities

Coordinate wound care therapy into patients’ total nursing care plans.
Participate in patient and family teaching.
Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
