The In-House Agency RN Program offers PRN employment for 13-week intervals in the Perinatal and/or Labor & Delivery inpatient units. Participants are required to work 36 hours per week for 13 weeks and receive a competitive hourly rate plus weekend differentials. Applicants must have a valid Arkansas RN license and at least 12 months of acute-care hospital experience, including at least six months in a direct patient-care role during the past 12 months. Applicants cannot be currently employed by UAMS; former UAMS employees must have terminated more than 180 days before applying. The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in UAMS’s Perinatal (E6) and/or Labor & Delivery (E5) units in the Harry P. Ward Clinical Tower. The units provide comprehensive, high-risk obstetrical care to patients from across Arkansas. Perinatal (E6) has 28 rooms and a newborn procedure area supporting postpartum, well newborn, high-risk antepartum, and gynecologic patients. Labor & Delivery (E5) has 14 LDR suites, triage beds, operating rooms, recovery space, and neonatal stabilization rooms, and handles approximately 300–330 deliveries per month. Both units emphasize patient- and family-centered care and support stable newborns staying with their mothers to promote bonding. The RN coordinates and triages patient care, collaborates with providers, fellows, and interdisciplinary staff, and supports transitions of care. The RN works with patients and families to develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinates appointments and referrals, and provides education about complex health conditions. The position requires working every other weekend and one major holiday plus one additional holiday if applicable during the 13-week agreement period. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
