About The Position

Amedisys is hiring an on-call registered nurse for a full-time hospice night-shift position. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. The nurse provides hospice care to patients at home, performs assessments and on-call services, coordinates care with the clinical team, and supports patients’ families. The listed annual salary range is $89,000–$93,000. Compensation may vary by geographic market, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• Current RN license specific to the state or states assigned for work.
• At least one year of nursing experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial nursing assessments for new admissions.
• Complete, coordinate, and revise the total plan of care, collaborating with appropriate staff to maintain continuity of patient care.
• Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
• Develop, prepare, and maintain accurate and timely individualized patient care progress records in accordance with care center policies.
• Record pain and symptom management changes and outcomes as appropriate.
• Educate families about the patient’s condition, needs, and care.
• Make referrals to other hospice care disciplines as needed, or document the rationale for not doing so.
• Perform assigned on-call responsibilities and provide on-call services to patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
