About The Position

Methodist Retirement Communities (MRC) serves older adults through eight continuing-care retirement communities in Texas. Pinecrest Retirement Community in Lufkin offers independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation. The RN Nurse Supervisor assists the Director of Nursing in administering, directing, and coordinating nursing services to help ensure residents’ nursing needs are met.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited vocational school of nursing.
• Current Texas RN license.
• At least three years of general nursing experience, including supervision and geriatric nursing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Make daily rounds to all nursing units to ensure staff are present, supplies are available, and units are running smoothly.
• Visit and follow up with families and elders, review clinical records, document and communicate as appropriate, and maintain proactive family communications.
• Oversee healthcare infection control, ensure staff follow applicable policies and procedures, conduct infection-control in-services, and answer staff questions.
• Regularly review EMR documentation to ensure it is accurate and complete; follow up with staff on documentation and provide education as needed.
• Assist in maintaining the department's full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Perform other duties as needed.
