About The Position

This is a 36-hour per week position for an RN in the Level 2B Special Care Nursery. The unit is a 25-bed unit that includes Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, 2 Operating Rooms, 2 Antepartum rooms, and a Recovery Room. The position requires rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights, as well as working every other weekend. The clinician to patient ratio varies by area: L&D is 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drips, or epidurals; Postpartum is 1:3-4. The patient population is all inclusive. The average daily census is 15-25 mothers, babies, and laboring patients. The EMR system used is EPIC. Certifications required include AHA BLS and NRP.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience working in one location.
• 2 years of experience working as a Traveler.
• Special Care Nursery & Newborn Care skill sets.
• AHA BLS certification.
• NRP certification.

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of NICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a Level 2B Special Care Nursery.
• Manage Labor & Delivery patients with ratios of 1:2-3 for evaluations and 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drips, or epidurals.
• Manage Postpartum patients with ratios of 1:3-4.
• Care for all patient populations within the unit.
• Utilize EPIC for charting.
• Work rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights.
• Work every other weekend.
• Perform 1 night of call per shift rotation.
