ICU RN - 36hrs. Nights and EOW
About The Position
This is a 36-hour per week position for an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) working nights and every other weekend. The role is at a Level III Trauma Center within a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU). The unit cares for adult patients with a wide range of diagnoses including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock. Attendings and Residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day. Salem Hospital is a 400+ bed community facility. Floating to Medical/Surgical Units is required, potentially caring for up to 4 or 5 patients in those areas. Telemetry competency is required.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Adult ICU experience required.
- 2+ years of continuous work experience in one location, preferably a MICU.
- MUST BE ABLE TO READ TELE STRIPS.
- Telemetry competency required.
- Active Massachusetts RN License.
- AHA BLS certification.
- AHA ACLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a Level III Trauma Center.
- Experience with patients diagnosed with Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ICU.
- Float to Medical/Surgical Units as needed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care in the EPIC EMR system.
- Maintain telemetry competency.
