About The Position
Comfort Creek Nursing and Rehab is hiring an RN Infection Preventionist / Staff Development Coordinator to work in short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. The role oversees the facility’s infection prevention program and coordinates staff education and training to support resident safety and regulatory compliance. The position’s goal is to promote resident safety, prevent the spread of infections, and ensure staff are trained and prepared to provide quality resident care.
Requirements
- Current, active Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and CMS regulations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the facility’s infection prevention and control program.
- Monitor, track, and report infections.
- Conduct infection control audits and facility rounds.
- Ensure proper hand hygiene, PPE use, and isolation precautions.
- Investigate and assist with infection outbreaks.
- Coordinate new employee orientation and staff in-services.
- Provide ongoing staff education and annual competencies.
- Maintain training and infection control documentation.
- Assist with survey preparation and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in QAPI meetings and performance improvement activities.
