About The Position

River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. Since 1970, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders. River Oaks has provided quality treatment to service individuals suffering from mental illness, and/or addictive disorders. Situated on a 14-acre campus, services are available at all levels of care (inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient). River Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented RN House Supervisor- Night Shift to provide direct supervision campus-wide to all staff on a given shift. Provides physical assessments of residents, implements resident's treatment plan, evaluates response to treatment, provides complete documentation, administers medications as prescribed and provides health care education for residents and families. Performs duties in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Requirements

3-5 years prior clinical experience and recent psychiatric nursing experience required.
Minimum of 1 year supervisor experience required.
RN graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licensure and registration by the Louisiana Board of Nursing as a registered nurse required.
CPR certification required
Good communication skills.
Ability to present information and ideas is essential to nursing duties and must maintain effective working relationships interdepartmentally, interdepartmentally, and with the Medical Staff.
Must be able to communicate successfully, both orally and written, to a variety of internal and external customers, while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor
Must be able to do business math calculations and to solve problems independently on office operation matters.
Must have strong organizational skills.
Must have ability to focus and perform effectively under stress and with multiple priorities.
Must be able to make sound, independent decisions pertaining to job responsibilities.
