RN Hospice On-Call Nurse Afterhours - $5,000 SOB
About The Position
Compassionate Care Hospice, an Amedisys Company, is hiring an RN Afterhours On-Call Nurse based in The Villages, Florida. The position provides hospice nursing care and requires triage and emergency travel when needed in Sumter County. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM, with no weekends. The role offers an annual salary range of $85,000–$90,000, plus bonus opportunities, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Final compensation may vary based on experience and skills. The nurse performs initial assessments for new admissions, develops and maintains individualized plans of care, coordinates with the clinical team, monitors and records patient progress and symptom-management outcomes, and educates families about patient needs and care. The role includes assigned on-call services for patients and families. RN orientation averages 7–9 weeks and is individualized based on the nurse’s needs and experience. Requirements
- Current RN license in the state or states where the nurse will work.
- At least 2 years of strong clinical RN experience in an acute healthcare setting.
- Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities
- Perform initial nursing assessments on new admissions.
- Complete, coordinate, and revise the total plan of care, maintaining continuity of patient care in collaboration with appropriate staff.
- Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
- Develop, prepare, and maintain accurate and timely individualized patient care progress records according to care center policies.
- Record changes and outcomes related to pain and symptom management as appropriate.
- Educate families about the patient’s condition, needs, and care.
- Refer patients to other hospice care disciplines as needed, or document the rationale for not doing so.
- Perform assigned on-call responsibilities and provide on-call services to patients and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
