This position involves planning, directing, controlling, supervising, and coordinating all Nursing Service activities. The RN - Evening Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the daily activities of nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, ensuring proper staffing levels and assigning nursing tasks. The role includes providing training, coaching, and mentoring to nursing staff, conducting performance evaluations, and assisting with disciplinary actions. A key responsibility is ensuring staff compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while overseeing the delivery of nursing care to residents/patients to meet professional standards. This includes reviewing patient care plans, assessments, and clinical documentation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care. The supervisor will monitor patients’ health status, intervene as needed, respond to emergencies, and provide direct nursing care when necessary. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., CMS, OSHA, state health departments), participating in quality improvement initiatives and infection control programs, and maintaining accurate nursing records and reports are also critical. The role involves implementing and monitoring patient safety protocols, preparing staffing schedules, managing shift coverage, and handling communication between nursing staff and administration. Participation in facility committees and meetings, managing documentation related to patient care and nursing operations, and acting as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, families, and medical providers are also part of the duties. Finally, the supervisor will address and resolve patient or family concerns related to nursing care and facilitate effective communication within the nursing team and across departments.
