RF Communications Engineer – Atlantic City, NJ (Onsite) – 15+ Years
About The Position
StarTekk is seeking a highly experienced Senior RF Communications Engineer to support a major aviation client in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This onsite role is responsible for designing, integrating, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining RF and communications systems. The position requires extensive hands-on experience with RF technologies, VHF/UHF radio systems, communications protocols, networking, VoIP, and Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities. The engineer will conduct RF measurements and analysis, support communications testbeds and test environments, and contribute to system integration, verification, site surveys, and facility installations. The role also includes producing T&E and technical documentation and providing project status updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in RF Communications Engineering.
- Experience designing, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting RF systems.
- Strong knowledge of RF characteristics, including VSWR, gain, noise figure, impedance, output power, intermodulation, selectivity, and interference.
- Experience with RF components, including amplifiers, attenuators, filters, mixers, switches, and circulators.
- Hands-on experience with analog and digital VHF/UHF radio systems.
- Experience with communications system integration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with communications protocols including TCP/IP, RS-232, RS-422, ATM, SONET, ISDN, Frame Relay, and GPIB.
- Experience with communications test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, RF power meters, protocol analyzers, and communication system analyzers.
- Experience with T&E, test plans, test procedures, VRTMs, and test reporting.
- Knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP reference models.
- Experience configuring and maintaining routers and switches.
- Experience with VoIP protocols including SIP, RTP, and MGCP.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong hands-on RF communications and testing experience in complex communications environments.

Responsibilities
